The New York constable Ichabod Crane (Johnny Depp) has annoyed superiors once to often with his experimental methods of invesatigation. he is sent to the remote community of Sleepy Hollow. There has been a number of murders and the town elders suspect the mythical "Headless Horseman" to be responsible.
Ichabod is sceptical but soon finds out that the evidence points towards the supernatural.
