Mami Wata
In Iyi, Mami Wata, a water spirit, and Mama Efe, her human intermediary, hold the health, wealth, life and death of the villagers in their hands. But when a young boy dies, doubt arise in the village.
In a small and remote village near the Gulf of Guinea, Mama Efe is the village counsellor and mediator to the spirits. When doubts about her abilities arise, it is her daughters who have to keep the community from breaking apart.
