Prostitution, a job like any other? On the road of Lower Saxony’s country roads are mobile homes with colorful, flashing chains of lights. In hope of money and a better life, prostitutes from Eastern Europe and Africa wait in these buses for passing customers. They spend their days in constant fear of not being able to raise enough money to rent the caravan or becoming victims of violence. The perspective of Uschi, the pimp, is also illuminated. Elke Margarete Lehrenkrauss creates extraordinary insights into a microcosm that shows a society at the hardest end of globalized capitalism. The film was rightly awarded the German Documentary Film Prize 2020.
