Jean-Paul Gaultier: Freak and Chic
Jean-Paul Gaultier looks back on his life in “Fashion Freak Show“ (2018) in Folies Bergères. The show serves as a thread in L’Hénoret‘s excessive documentary.
The “Revue Fashion Freak Show“ that started two years ago serves as the common thread of the documentary. The show directed by film and theater director Tonie Marshall staged Gaultier‘s retrospective in a very special venue: the Folies Bergères, one of the most famous Parisian night clubs. Footage from the rehearsal and the genesis of the retrospective alternative with images of the finished product, supplemented by short statements in which companions praise Gaultier‘s genius and the master himself talking about his own life.
