Childrens' author Jessica moves back into her childhood home with her boyfriend and his two daughters. When the younger one, Alice, discovers and befriends a teddy bear named Chauncey, all seems well. But the imaginary friend soon drives Alice to behave disturbingly and after a while, Jessica has to face her own past, which she cannot remember but which seems to have included a "friend" much like Chauncey.
