Dr. Louis Creed moves to a rural part of Maine with his family. When the family cat is killed by a speeding truck, the craggy old neighbour Judd lets Louis in on a secret: All pets who are interred in a Native American burial ground will come back, alive but not quite the same. And despite Judd's warnings Louis buries Church the Cat, only to find that the oldtimer was tragically right. And it will not be the last visit to that place.
