Insurance investigator John Trent (Sam Neill, EVENT HORIZON) is sent out to track down the disappeared horror novelist Sutter Cane (Jürgen Prochnow, DAS BOOT). His quest leads him to Hobb's End, a town which should only exist in Cane's work. As things progress, the lines between nightmare, fiction and reality blur further and soon Trent starts to question his own sanity. Is there a greater evil hiding in Cane's books.

The final part of John Carpenter's Apocalypse Trilogy, heavily inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft. The film never received the acclaim of Carpenter's earlier films but has amassed a cult following since then.
