Magnitogorsk was founded in 1929 as part of the first Five-Year-Plan. Within the prism of his own childhood experiences, director Igor Morozow tells the story of his home town in GOROD M (2012). Historical footage are combined with footage of today’s urban life, and the director’s reflections alternate with hard historical facts. Magnitogorsk’s architecture mirrors the historical city: all the quarters of the historically young city have remained and you can find very different architectural-spatial dimensions just by crossing the street.
