Since November 2014 IL KINO, there’s a new arthouse cinema adding to the vibrancy of Neukölln. Rebuilt and run by the Italian documentary filmmaker Carla Molino and her husband, the German scriptwriter Daniel, the theatre offers a beautifully designed bar with Polish poster art, an Italian buffet every Sunday, a comfortable 55-seat cinema, and screens a wide variety of international films in the original. The films screened at IL KINO are a mix of indie films, documentaries, short films and films by local filmmakers. Its program is directed at an international audience of new Berliners: The language of choice is English.
