Tired of living, Munir wanders through the shallow water landscape, defying the cattle in the fields, listening to the wind, the surf, the seagulls and the silence in between.
Munir (George Khabbaz) is seeking some relief from his respiratory ailment by the sea. Trapped by a storm on a remote island, he finds some company in landlady Valeska (Hanna Schygulla) and her odd son Karl (Tom Wlaschiha). But Munir is racked by homesickness and sadness over the loss of his arab home country.
