The film tells the stories of six homosexual men in Israel’s early years. Their personal life stories serve as the background for describing the concealed and undocumented lives of homosexuals in Israel in the 1960s and 1970s. The film sheds light on a time when homosexuality was banned, until 1979, when many dared to comeout, stood up for their rights, and established the gay community. The film contributes to telling this unknown story. WE WERE THE OTHERS is the first full-length film Hadas Ayalon has directed.
