Hoda Muthana and Shamima Begum made headlines around the world when they left their homes in the US and UK as teenagers to join the so-called Islamic State. THE RETURN – LIFE AFTER ISIS is a unique portrait of a group of Western women who have dedicated their lives to IS, but now want to return home. As they face hostile journalists and governments that have rendered them de facto stateless, the women confront their truths and attempt to heal from their trauma in a camp in northeastern Syria with the help of women's rights activists.
