A new skyscraper is being built in Beirut. A quarter of a century after the end of the Civil War, the city is being built on the ruins of its past. The workers are Syrians — while the cities of their own homeland are still being bombed, they build up the homes of their neighbors. During the day, the men float in clear heights, at night they disappear silently under the earth in their makeshift shelters, which they are not allowed to leave at night. In atmospherically composed images, the film reflects the limbo of a nation in exile.
