Carpenter Balla (Manfred Krug) and his men rebel against the incompetent official line with anarchist methods. When a new official and a rare female engineer arrive at the plant, this causes a love triangle. The film was controversial enough to be banned a few days after release (after all, such things did not exist in the GDR) but has since become a classic.
