Could it be? He has his mouth, the height, the musical talent, the sex appeal...maybe not. But it‘s imaginable. Alright, it involves quite a bit of imagination to think that Mick Jagger is actually the father of Olaf Schubert. The Rolling Stones frontman and the living tanktop don‘t have much in common. But there‘s this audio recording that Schubert findswhile cleaning up his family basement. His mother can be heard during an interview with Mick Jagger, recorded in 1965 in Münster. His mother, in the West, with Mick Jagger – Olaf Schubert can‘t believe it and and begins to search for traces. On his journey he talks to his mother‘s companions about their time at DT64, the youth radio station of the GDR, with musicians, and the fans who were there during the first German show of the Stones at the Münsterlandhalle.

On his search for truth, certain things are of course charmingly reshaped. In the process, a history of rock music in the GDR emerges. Conversations with Flake from Rammstein, songwriter Harmut König or frontman Toni Krahl give a sense of what it was like to be young and rebellious in the socialist republic. The idea for the mockumentary came from the documentary director and screenwriter Heike Fink (EISHEIMAT). She reached out to comedian Olaf Schubert and he was very enthusiastic. His improvisational talent carries the fictional-filmic self-discovery during some moments of idle time. OLAF JAGGER opened the Hofer Filmtage where the director received the “Förderpreis Neues Deutsches Kino“ and won the critic‘s prize.
