As an infant Muhi is rushed to an Israeli hospital to be treated for a life-threatening illness. When he has recovered, he is still unable to return to Palestine, where lacking medical facilities would mean certain death for him. At the same time, as the son of a Hamas activist, Muhi is not allowed on Israeli soil beyond the hospital grounds. For seven years he grows up at the hospital but when Muhi is supposed to enter school, difficult decisions have to be made.
