Iranian director Mohamed Rasoulof was arrested in 2010 and sentenced to six years in prison. Rasoulof shot MANUSCRIPTS DON’T BURN while waiting for his sentence to be carried out, and smuggeled the finished film out of the country on an USB-stick.
