During the production of ZAMA, the filmmaker Manuel Abramovich contacted the director Lucrecia Martel with the intention of making a documentary portrait about her work with the actors in the shooting. She responded by warning that she was light years away from being able to be the protagonist of a movie.

A year and six months later, LIGHT YEARS turns out to be a patient, sharp and elegant clipping of the process of making Zama. In addition to a beautiful and unpretentious portrait about the work of the Salta filmmaker, the movie seeks to be a praise to the profession of filmmaking. Especially, to auteur filmmaking in Argentina.

Manuel focus on her waitings. In her uncertain searches. And especially in the love and collective force that tracts the existence of these great achievement: films.
