Self-declared bear enthusiast Timothy Treadwell spent thirteen years studying the Alaskan Kodiak brown bears up close, filming them and giving them pet names. When he and his girlfriend were killed by one of those bears he left behind a massive amount of footage which Werner Herzog turned into this documentary.
