Forrest Gump (tom Hanks) is not terribly clever and needs braces to walk. But in time, he learns to walk and loves to run, and for some reason he is favoured by fortune. As he stumbles through life, following the advice of his mother (Sally Field) and his good heart, he meets all kinds of celebrities, historical figures and of course the love of his life, Jenny (Robin Wright). And in time, he comes into great fortune....

Epic historical comedy which was mainly noted for its computer effects at the time. It's still charming but some of the subtext is somewhat unfortunate and conservative.
