Elliot and Beverly Mantle (Jeremy Irons) are identical twins and both working as gynaecologists. But in terms of character they are very different. When both fall in love with the same woman, this sets off a downward spiral of mental issues, drug abuse, interest in mutant genitalia and finally death.
