The brilliant scientist Peyton Westlake (Liam Neeson) has developed a new type of artificial skin, which however is only stable in sunlight for 99 minutes. When Peyton's girlfriend (Frances Mcdormand) draws the attention of crime boss Durant (Larry Drake), the gangster is quick to mutilate, burn and supposedly kill the scientist. But Westlake survives, now super-strong, unable to feel pain and more than a little psychotic. Using his artificial skin to infiltrate Durant's gang, he becomes a new superhero, DARKMAN. And he will have his vengeance.
