Charlie lives with his family in a run-down shack when the mysterious chocolatier Mr. Willy Wonka (Johnny Depp) announces he will offer a tour of his legendary factory to a small group of lucky children with the added bonus of one of them becoming his heir. Charlie's family pools their money and after a few failures, he really manages to find a Golden Ticket for the tour. But the other, thoroughly horrid and bizarre, children will not let him win that easily.

Glossy adaptation of the book by Roald Dahl and its sequel, starring the usual Tim-Burton-lot. Musical numbers are mainly handled by Deep Roy playing all the Oompa Loompas.
