After witnessing the destruction of a village by German troops and losing her brother in the attack, Rose (Katherine Hepburn) has to rely on the coarse captain Allnut (Humphrey Bogart) and his ship African Queen to get her to safety. After a rocky start, the two begin to warm to each other. And then a plan of revenge forms.
