Based on his own story, director Tanjour traces the stories of his compatriots who had to leave their homes in Syria for political reasons — many of whom even long before the events in 2011. In the color khaki, they find a unifying symbol of oppression by the regime and militarisation of the society. This award-winning documentary distills the atmosphere of fear and terror from the protagonists’ memories and contextualizes the events of the past years.
